You can save me a lot of work by saving your Microsoft Exel spreadsheet data as a web-ready document. You will see your work on the web site much sooner if you do!
Here's how: (Note:
These directions are based on Microsoft Excel 2001 for Mac, your version of
Word may have slightly different locations and commands but you should still
be able to do most of this!)
1. Open a new spreadsheet.
2. Name seven columns "name", "bars", "beam", "floor", "vault", "all-around" and "place".
3. Fill in your data.
4. After you enter your data, select all the cells with data and apply borders to the cells.
5. While you have all your cells selected, chose "Save As Web Page" from the "File" menu. (If your version of Excel does not have the "Save As Web Page" option, stop here, save your file, and e-mail me your Excel file as-is)
6. Give your file a name, leaving the ".htm" suffix in place. When naming web files you may only use letters, numbers or an underscore ("_"). Please do not use any special characters (like !@#$%^&*()?/) or spaces, they will not work properly on the web site (and I will have to fix it!).
7. Check the button for "Selection" at the bottom of the save window (where your choices are "Workbook", "Sheet" and "Selection").
8. If you're really good you'll click the "Web Options" button and give the web page a title. Something like "ESGA Meet Results - Level 7 - 3/16/03". Don't worry about key words or any of the other options. Click "OK".
9. Click "Save".
10. Attach your saved file (it will be the one with the .htm. (or .html) suffix) to an email to me cfox59@yahoo.com
Hopefully it will look like this.
